MV Endurance was built in Romania by the Deawoo Heavy Industries yard, under the auspices of Volharding Shipyards. Since October 2005, the vessel from the Volharding Shipyards 750 series has been part of the JR Shipping fleet.
Due to her perfect loading capacity and flexibility, the Endurance is precious to her charterers. The vessel was built to a high ice class (1A) and provides a large reefer container capacity.
Sustainability at JR Shipping Group is an integral part of our daily operations. Driven by intrinsic motivation and in line with applicable laws and regulations, we continuously explore opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint and structurally lower emissions.
For MV Endurance, this means actively assessing future operational and technical optimisations that may contribute to further emission reductions. Both operational adjustments and potential technical measures are evaluated, with the aim of improving vessel efficiency and reducing CO₂ emissions per voyage.
In addition, we continuously implement fleet-wide sustainability measures. In 2025, drinking water refill stations were installed on board all our container vessels, providing crew members with access to filtered drinking water and eliminating the need for plastic bottles.
Through initiatives like these, JR Shipping Group actively contributes to the greening of the shipping industry. By stepwise improving existing vessels and carefully preparing future emission-reducing measures, we structurally reduce our environmental impact. This is a necessary and responsible step, given the crucial role of shipping in global trade and the collective challenge of reducing CO₂ emissions.
Together towards sustainable short sea shipping.
