Sustainability at JR Shipping Group is an integral part of our daily operations. Driven by intrinsic motivation and in line with applicable laws and regulations, we continuously explore opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint and structurally lower emissions.
For the {Vessel – 750’ class with retrofit}, this has resulted in a concrete and impactful improvement project. Through modifications to the bow thruster and propeller blades, we achieve a CO₂ reduction of at least 20%.
In addition to these technical optimisations, we continuously evaluate further measures. In 2025, drinking water refill stations were installed on board all our container vessels, providing crew members with access to filtered drinking water and eliminating the need for plastic bottles.
Through initiatives like these, JR Shipping Group actively contributes to the greening of the shipping industry. By realising measurable emission reductions on existing vessels and implementing these measures fleet-wide, we structurally reduce our environmental impact. This is a necessary and responsible step, given the crucial role of shipping in global trade and the collective challenge of reducing CO₂ emissions.
Together towards sustainable short sea shipping.
